Strangely enough, the lights are still on at Redcar blast furnace, weeks after the place was shut-down with such catastrophic effect. Of course, this is very misleading. SSI won’t want to make the work of their security people more difficult. It would be such a shame if thieves stole some scrap or whatever.

There are limited vantage points to shoot, as if on site, but I found a slightly wider gap in the fence so my lens could almost squeeze through. It is a shame the lighting tower lined up with the blast furnace but I’ll find a better angle eventually.
