Classic Cars – toys for the boys

I spent a couple of days last week location scouting for a variety of settings to use as key elements in a collection of classic cars photographs. Fortunately, we are blessed with a wide variety of beautiful landscapes, gritty urban settings and evocative industrial locations.

Despite the freezing temperatures and gale force winds this week, especially on Monday followed by only a modest improvement on Tuesday, we made a good start. Today the weather was rather better, great for the crew and for productivity. Truth be told, we had managed the less than perfect metrological interference, dodging showers and dull cloudy weather to grab brief sunny moments, as and when they presented themselves but today the conditions were all but ideal. So far we have shot; a Peugeot 205 GTi Mi16, year 1989, a Mercedes Benz 280 SL, year 1993, a Porsche 996 turbo, year 2000 a Porsche 996 Carrera 2 year 2000 and a Vauxhall VX220 16v, a bit more modern but stunning and ohhh such FUN. There are more to shoot over the next week or so and shortly afterwards. I will publish at least some of these lovely images within the next few weeks. For commercial reasons I am not yet at liberty to publish any of them. However, the location scouting stills are worth a squint, to whet your appetite, as it were.

I really hope you enjoyed those and that you’ll keep checking back. If you like cars, or just good photography, it will be worth it.
